FAQs
Carnivore Snaxs are best enjoyed within 3 days after opening. We recommend refrigeration after 3 days in order to preserve the integrity of their awesome texture.
Consume Carnivore Snax within 10 days after opening. Unopened bags are good for 6 months (if they last that long!). These are preliminary shelf-life tests.
Carnivore Snax can also be frozen if you're going away or unable to consume right away - we do have some customers who freeze them.
There is a weird white/yellow glimmery residue on my Carnivore Snax... is it mold?
NO. Absolutely not. This is arguably the best part. Unlike ultra-processed jerky products, our unique preparation melts fat. What you are seeing is flavorful rendered fat, and it will NOT be seen on every piece, although you'll wish it was after you taste it ;)
Why are there speckles on my Carnivore Snax?
During frozen transportation, the raw material begins to look like what's pictured above on the left. After the preparation cycle, you get what's on the right.
What are the red spots on my Carnivore Snax?
There may be red spots visible on the fat. This is a normal process that happens when the meat is layered in ovens and the meat juices drip down.
There is something hard in my Carnivore Snax... what is it?
These are connective meat fibers, NOT hair. These may become hard during the preparation cycle.
Not every piece is going to be perfect or have yellow fat. Regenerative ribeye comes in different shapes, sizes, and fat content.
There is something else hard, what is that?
This is real, VERY minimally processed meat which means it comes with fat, connective tissue, collagen, and fibers, which are all great for humans. When collagenous tissues are dried they become hard. Those pieces can be easily snapped off or can be carefully consumed.

Salt
You may see another white hue/residue on top of each piece. This is Redmond Real Salt, which we hand apply to each individual piece.
Most companies dip their meat into a salt solution prior to cooking.
Why we hand apply salt:
We believe that the body prefers salt consumption in its purest form.
What this means for Snax consistency:
You may find that each piece isn't perfectly salted. If that's that case, simply add more. And if you find your Snax to be too salted, simply tap your Snax on a clean countertop and make it rain salt.
Making Carnivore Snax isn't easy.
We spent thousands of dollars and went through a looooong research & development process before we landed on something this tasty.
It took a lot of work to figure out how to transform a ribeye, pork loin, and eye round to the point where they…
Were still nutritious
Were portable enough to fit in your pocket
Actually tasted good
Retained their oh-so-delicious marbling
And meet USDA standards
We use a two-step process that takes twice as long as people who make beef jerky.
Yes… it is more expensive.
Yes… it crushes our margins.
And YES… it’s a lot harder overall for us.
But…
That's what allows us to pack a full 1 lbs of meat into a 5 oz bag of Carnivore Snax. And it’s what makes Carnivore Snax turn out like a meat potato chip that’s light, airy and unbelievably delicious.
